About the book.

In a future Britain ruled by an authoritarian government, society is controlled through surveillance, fear and propaganda. Individual freedom has been sacrificed in the name of order.

A mysterious masked figure known as V begins a campaign against the regime. After rescuing a young woman named Evey from the authorities, V draws her into a dangerous struggle that challenges everything she understands about freedom, power and resistance.

As V's campaign develops, the story explores both the machinery of authoritarian control and the personal cost of attempting to destroy it.

What to expect.

V for Vendetta is darker and more political than many of the other books on this list. Expect surveillance, propaganda, authoritarian government, rebellion and questions about how much freedom people are willing to surrender for security.

If you enjoy the conflict between powerful corporations, governments and individuals in Cyberpunk 2077, this graphic novel offers a different take on that same idea: what happens when the system becomes so powerful that resisting it means risking everything.
